“As a filmmaker, I was more likely to be picked up by the Netherlands than in Belgium. I got opportunities at the VPRO and was trained by this Dutch broadcaster. In terms of generation and eye for small, everyday things, I lean towards the makers of the series of low-budget feature films for Route 2000 and No More Heroes. What appeals to me about those films is that they are small treat topics in an extensive way, which gives it something universal.” (Filmkrant)
